Refurbished from floor to ceiling
The designer Philippe Starck is never short of ideas, especially when called upon to rethink the interior of a hotel in Paris's 20th arrondissement! The Mama Shelter Hotel has been completely redecorated with his hallmark approach: an extravagant atmosphere and elegant style. The artist did not hesitate to insist on modernism, with restrained colouring and plenty of angles. The bar-lounge is worthy of special mention, being deep purple with a blackboard-style ceiling. The Batman-themed room is not bad either: simple and stylised, like the comic book character himself. At 169 per night, it is well worth a look.
