Dive into Downtown Dubai

A quiet haven, the exquisite property is far enough removed from the bustle of Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, but close enough for its occupants to join in on the action of Downtown in minutes. A host of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and hotels are a mere stone’s throw away. The Old Town Community is made up of low-rise buildings designed to resemble traditional Arab architectural styles complemented by picturesque, landscaped laneways leading to each of the apartment blocks. Parking garages housed entirely underground make it a safe place for families as no vehicles drive through the development. The central location of this apartment places it minutes away from DIFC, the Dubai Mall and numerous schools with the airport and Jumeirah’s beaches a short distance away.

One of the most notable features of the 1,318 square foot apartment is that it is remarkably light inside. Since buying the apartment in May last year, the owners have undertaken extensive renovations to remove the original dark wood paneling used throughout the interior. Former dark cupboards, doors and doorframes are now a modern pale dove grey and a sea of serene whites, creams and light greys resonate throughout the abode. The result is pleasant, uplifting and very calming.

The common areas of the apartment are all open plan, with the kitchen, foyer and living room all housed within the same large space. To the right of the entrance stands the kitchen. White Italian marble works its magic here, where the ample counter space is matched by vast storage with no less than 17 cupboard. There is no lack of amenities either with a dishwasher, Miele oven and induction stove, wine fridge and fridge freezer all encapsulated within the square space. Three plush custom-made stools line the L-shaped breakfast bar facing in toward the kitchen.

Opposite, there is a guest bathroom – walls upholstered in wallpaper of an intricate gold print complement the caramel coloured marble vanity and an interior door leads to a surprisingly large storage room which easily houses utility appliances and doubles as storage space.

Back in the foyer, an impressive large black-framed Sarah Patey painting of stormy seas hangs above a small grey-mirrored desk creating a pensive spot for gathering ones thoughts or an ideal place to work from home.

In the lounge, an immense sofa in a tone of soft champagne sits atop a large grey rug , accentuated with blue and white cushions. It faces a tall wall unit, which houses a huge Samsung TV and entertainment system. Three small circular marble tables occupy the space between the sofa and entertainment unit. The focal point of the living room is a huge central five-tier Eva Menz chandelier that catches and reflects the natural light from outside, elevating the level of light inside the apartment. At the base of the lounge, textured creamy white curtains frame double sliding doors, beyond which a long, spacious balcony overlooks a leafy, green courtyard below as well as delivering awesome views of the world’s tallest building.

Two spacious bedrooms flank either side of the lounge, with the master situated to the right, offering up a truly, tranquil space. Pearly white textured walls contrast with the custom-built canvas headboard and an all-white super king bed is accented with a grey throw and cushions. A grey-mirrored vanity sits at the foot of the bed, offset by a silver lamp and candle stand. A cream coloured scalloped chair occupies the corner of the room by the expansive double windows. To the left , a small corridor lined with six mirrored wardrobes provides substantial storage space and leads the way to the ensuite bathroom which comes complete with a sandy marble sink top and rain shower. The second bedroom mirrors the layout of the master; white and cream hues create an idyllic atmosphere and the double window offers uninterrupted views of the Burj Khalifa. Storage space is also plentiful here with six wardrobes and a large bathroom cabinet in the attached ensuite.

The expansive space provides more than enough potential for relaxation and entertaining. Beautifully light and with an abundance of storage, this luxurious home is perfect for those in search of a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city.
