We put together a list of the most suitable residential areas for every dog breed.
Jumeirah
Probably the oldest dog-friendly residential area in Dubai, Jumeirah is known for its canine-loving residents and a number of veterinary clinics and pet shops. Jumeirah is so dog-friendly that a large number of restaurants allow dog owners to sit outside with their four-legged companions.
Suitable for: Energetic family dogs who need regular walks and love being around people and other dogs, as well as homes with large gardens.

Emirates Hills/Arabian Ranches/The Springs
Think massive backyards and plenty of greenery; these areas are great for dog owners who like to pamper their companions with plenty of space and fresh air.
Suitable for: Independent dogs that need plenty of exercise and don’t like being surrounded by many people.

Jumeirah Lake Towers
Unofficially known for being extremely dog-friendly, JLT‘s reputation is probably due to the fact that many landlords allow their tenants to keep their pets in their apartments. Owners can walk their dogs around the lakes and some cafes allow dog owners to sit outside with their pups.
Suitable for: Even though the area is dog-friendly, not all dog breeds are suitable for apartments. JLT is most suitable for people with small dogs.

Motor City/Discovery Gardens
It’s difficult to find someone for whom these two areas are not suitable. These extremely pet-friendly communities are close to the city centre, but far enough to take advantage of the milder weather in winter. Dog owners love Motor City and Discovery Gardens because these areas enable them to walk their dogs any time of the day, making these great areas for meeting other dog owners.
Suitable for: Medium-sized dogs who don’t only enjoy walks around the neighbourhood, but also love being lazy

This chic address overlooks one of the very few (if not the only) public parks where dogs are allowed to be walked on a leash. However, the high-end, delicately furnished apartments of Downtown Dubai are hardly suitable for larger dogs; that’s why it’s common to see tiny fur balls hanging from the arms of Downtowns‘ fashionistas.
Suitable for: Decorative dogs who are well house-trained and do not require a garden

The Greens
The Greens is commonly accepted as one of the most pet-friendly communities. A dog-friendly playground, pedestrian walkways, shaded paths, several lakes to stroll around, as well as doggie waste bins around the neighbourhood make this a popular area for dog-lovers. Although pet handlers are advised to keep their dogs on a leash, cats are not as welcome in the area, making it possible to enjoy carefree walks with their four-legged friends.
Suitable for: Medium and large-sized dogs that would be happier in the comfort of a garden
