The 2017 Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) takes place at the Dubai International Marine Club, Mina Seyahi, the area that plans on transforming into Dubai Harbour, a mega waterfront resident, and tourist project.
The 25th addition of DIBS features 450 boats, ranging from superyachts and smaller leisure and fishing boats. It also includes 845 companies and brands from around the world to boost investment of boats in the UAE.
Maritime sales have increased 25 percent in the past four years, which is great news for the Dubai Harbour project that will have manmade islands with the largest marina in the Middle East.
The 1,400-berth marina will increase Dubai’s capability to hold 50 percent more yachts. At the centre of it all will be a 135-meter high lighthouse with 360° views, a hotel that glows the 20 million square foot islands. Located off King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street, Dubai Harbour will also offer waterfront luxury resident living.
The masterplan of the iconic development will also include a 3.5 million square foot shopping mall, an events arena, offices, retail stores, public services, restaurants, and cafes. Dubai Harbour will cause Skydive Dubai, Dubai International Marine Club, and Logo Island to form into one community. Once construction is underway, it is expected to be finished in only four years.
