The house that Mickey built

Continuing with the theme of homes of childhood heroes we hear that Walt Disney’s former LA home is up for sale.

The historic 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom home was built by Disney in 1932 for $50,000 and is now on the market for a modest (by Hollywood standards) $3.65m. The gated home in the trendy Los Feliz neighbourhood of Los Angeles features painted ceilings, ceiling beams, stained leaded windows and a billiards room. There is also a screening room where the studios would send over daily edits of the mouse and his pals for the great man to review.

Thanks to Realtor.com we’ve got some shots of the house below. It’s very cosy and distinctly lacking in celebrity ‘bling’. We were expecting to some hedges cut in the shape of the famous mouse’s head or at the very least a Mickey shaped pool…
