The hotel was designed in a Japanese style by Yahya Jan of architectural firm NORR.
NORR is behind some of Dubai's best-known landmarks, including the Atlantis and Shangri-La Hotels.
The architect says that 'the curved forms of the glass and metal building are meant to gently reflect in the setting sun, while the design scheme emphasizes the verticality of the tower and is meant as a response to vertical living'.
