How Do You Register for ADDC?

The good news is that as soon as your rental agreement is registered with Tawtheeq, ADCC’s electricity and water account will automatically be set up for you and voila! You have water and electricity! So, no hassle there.

What Happens If You Don’t Have Tawtheeq or You Are the Owner of the Property?

If you are moving in an area within Abu Dhabi that is out of range for Tawtheeq or you are the new proud owner of a property in Abu Dhabi, not to worry! In these cases, you have to complete a move-in application.

What Is a Move-in Application?

A move-in application is only required to be filled online if you don’t have Tawtheeq and would like to connect utility services.

What Documents Are Required for a Move-in Application?

Here are the documents to have with you for a move-in application of the ADDC website for tenants:

  1. Copy of passport
  2. Copy of Emirates ID
  3. Copy of Tenancy Contract
  4. Previous Account Closing Letter for new property you are moving into.

Documents are slightly different for owners as follows:

  1. Copy of passport
  2. Copy of Emirates ID
  3. Copy of valid Premise Ownership Deed or site plan
  4. Previous Account Closing Letter for new property you are moving into.

How Much Is the ADDC Deposit?

A deposit of AED 1000 will be required as you open your account for the first time, to be refunded when disconnection takes place. You can pay it at any of the ADDC branches or online.

How Do You Activate Your ADDC Online Account?

All you have to do is head on to the ADDC official website and activate a new account using an ADDC account number, which would have been created for you upon registration with Tawtheeq.

What Is an ADDC Account Number?

An ADDC account number is usually found on the “Customer Details” section of your bill. However, if you don’t know the account number, you can use your Emirates ID to register for an online ADDC account.

  • Water: AED 2.09/cubic metre up to 7 cubic meter/day or AED 2.60/cubic meter over 7 cubic meter/day.

How Can You Pay ADDC for a Friend?

You just need their account number with you and once it’s done a confirmation will be sent to you and them. This is done online through the quick pay option or you can check ADDC bill payment machine locations for ADCB or NBAD and settle the bill if one of them is your friend’s bank.

How Can You Cancel Your ADDC Connection?

Closing your account and disconnecting your ADDC services only requires a few steps from the comfort of your home through a move-out request or you can head to any service center for disconnection on the spot.

What Is a Move-out Request?

A move-out request is what you apply for on the ADDC website or by calling the call center for disconnection of services when moving out of a property in Abu Dhabi. Once you state your desired disconnection date, a final bill will be issued. After payment, an Account Closing Letter will be sent to you via e-mail.

How Long Does Disconnection Take?

If you have a meter reading that’s up to date, disconnection can be arranged right away if need be. However, a notice of one or two days is preferred if a new meter reading is required.
