Port Saeed

About Port Saeed

Port Saeed is a vibrant and historically rich community in Deira, one of Dubai’s oldest and largest districts. It was founded by Saeed Ahmed Lootah, who named it after the Egyptian city Port Said, symbolizing trade and connection.

Known for its commercial activity, residential convenience, and scenic waterfront, Port Saeed offers a balanced lifestyle that merges Dubai’s trading heritage with modern comforts. Port Saeed lies between Al Khabisi to the north, Al Garhoud to the east, Rigga Al Buteen to the west, and Dubai Creek to the south, extending from Al Maktoum Bridge to Al Garhoud Bridge.

The neighborhood is surrounded by E11 on one side and D78 on the other side, making navigation stress-free to other districts. Furthermore, Baniyas Road eases internal connectivity. The community is home to several of the emirate’s iconic landmarks, including Deira City Centre, one of Dubai’s oldest malls, and the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, a prestigious leisure destination that occupies a large part of the area.

I lived in Al Muraqqabat from May 2023 to November 2024. Pros: - Diversity in culture = food and retail convenience - Many malls around - Excellent public transportation and walkability (Metro and plenty of bus stops) - Low cost of living Cons: - Parking nightmare if you own a car - High noise levels from people and vehicles - Super crowded, high density of people - Aging public areas (sidewalks and alleys) - Lack of greenery
