The beach of Umm Sugeim is also known as Sunset Beach due to the fact that this beach is a popular location to view the sunset in Dubai. This beach is the only beach in Dubai where you can make beautiful pictures of the sunset in combination with the Burj al Arab. So just before the sunset it can be very busy on this beach.
Facilities on the Umm Sugeim Beach
Umm Sugeim beach is a public beach which makes it free to visit 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
On the beach there are plenty of changing cubicles and showers where you can wash off the sand after your visit to the beach. On the beach there are also lifeguards who watch over the safety of the swimmers and guests on the beach.
Especially for children there is a playground available and along the beach there is a jogging path with a pedestrian promenade where several benches stand. At the edge of the beach, near the pedestrian promenade are a number of restaurants where you can buy snacks, food and drinks or where you can go to the toilet.
Also in the Umm Sugeim park which is directly behind the beach, you can find a restaurant where you can go to the toilet.
Special is the fact that there is a beach library on Umm Sugeim beach where you can borrow free books to read on the beach or on the beanbags next to the library.
Spread on either side of the famous Jumeirah Beach Road, Umm Sugeim has quietly grown into one of the city's most original hip and happening neighbourhoods.
