The world’s cheapest real estate?

The credit/debt analysis firm Credit Sesame has produced an infographic looking at average property prices per square foot in cool cities around the world compared to prices in selected US cities. Their research (perhaps unsurprisingly?) shows that real estate around the world is currently much more expensive than most places in the US.

Paris house-hunters are looking at an average price per square foot of $3,287 while those living in Houston and Phoenix can snap up comparative bargains at just $59 and $74 per sq.ft. The Dubai market also looks relatively cheap in terms of how much bricks and mortar buyers get for their money, with the average price coming out at a moderate $264 per sq.ft.
