Finding a great flat for rent in Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah is one of the UAE’s northern emirates and is home to about 300,000 people of all walks of life. It’s well known for leading the way in textile and manufacturing but it’s also becoming a hotspot for tourists on the search for unique getaways.

In addition to that, it’s a fast growing economic zone which is drawing many professionals and their families looking to settle down. As a result, the quality and standard of housing, in particular rental apartments is rapidly improving. Residents are finding that they’re being very spoiled for choice when choosing a flat for rent in Ras Al Khaimah as it is an affordable and abundant housing option.

Although Ras Al Khaimah is not as busy and developed as other parts of the country, it doesn’t lack all of the modern comforts one would desire. The apartment buildings across the emirate are tall, clean and kitted out with great style and usually include indoor gyms and outdoor swimming pools. Since RAK (as it’s often known) is small in size, everything is within close reach from schools and parks to malls (Manar Mall is quite popular).

Generally, flats for rent in Ras Al Khaimah are considered affordable when compared with other more developed parts of the country. They range from cosy studio and 1 bedroom flats to much larger 2, 3 and 4 bedroom flats though the latter are not nearly as popular.

General style and decor are acceptable by most standards but as they largely come unfurnished or semi furnished, you’ve got carte blanche to decorate as you see fit (just make sure you check with your landlord about painting anything).

A hugely popular area to find a flat for rent in Ras Al Khaimah include Al Hamra Village which provides excellent ocean views and is home to the Al Hamra Golf Club. Mina Al Arab and Al Marjan Island are equally sought after areas for quality apartment living. Both offer residents unparalleled views of the city and the sea in upmarket flats.

For anyone who is new to renting an apartment in Ras Al Khaimah, it’s important to understand rental law here. RAK allows landlords to increase the rent on their flats by 5% but only after a 3 year period. 3 years may seem like a long time but once you live in RAK, you will soon see why so many people to choose to rent apartments here.

Living in Ras Al Khaimah means a quieter lifestyle but it’s also a great place to set up shop and enjoy a tremendous work life balance. Great ocean views, easy access to modern amenities and unique economic opportunities make the decision to rent an apartment in Ras Al Khaimah an easy one!
