Depending on where you are, some neighbourhoods are extremely walkable. For instance, you can easily walk around downtown Abu Dhabi which comprises Corniche Road and many landmarks like Emirates Palace, Etihad Towers, and Qasr Al Watan.

Downtown Abu Dhabi is extremely walkable, as are Al Saadiyat Island and Al Reem Island. So while there are many walkable neighbourhoods, commuting between them would require a car as some of them are far apart. For instance, you would need a car to go from Downtown Abu Dhabi to Saadiyat Island, even though both are walkable areas.
