Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) is a free zone and mixed-use community combining innovation and everyday convenience. Spanning 7.2 square kilometres, it was launched by the Dubai Government in 2003 as a hub for tech businesses and continues to attract professionals, students, and families alike.


Strategically located at the intersection of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) and Dubai–Al Ain Road (E66), DSO community borders key districts like Academic City, Nad Al Sheba 4, and International City. Dubai Silicon Oasis’ location is remarkable since it is bordered by Nad Al Sheba from the north, International City from the east, and Academic City from the south. Being in the middle between extremely popular communities makes Dubai Silicon City all the more attractive to people.

I lived in Dubai Silicon Oasis for about a year and a half, near Souq Extra. Overall, it's a peaceful and calm community - you never feel like it's overcrowded. Despite being close to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, traffic noise was never really an issue. There's a small park near the DSO entrance, but it's quite modest, and I wouldn't say the area offers much in the way of walking routes or points of interest. On the upside, it's close to the half-desert, which makes it really convenient for BBQ outings. There are a few decent restaurants around, but the dining scene doesn't come close to somewhere like Al Barsha. That said, DSO is a well-established community. You'll find almost everything you need day to day - hospitals, schools, a university, supermarkets, and more. It's also worth mentioning the IFZA free zone, which is a major business hub within DSO. If you've set up a company there, living in Silicon Oasis makes a lot of practical sense. So overall, I'd call it an average area in the best sense of the word - not remarkable, not disappointing. It delivers what you'd expect for the budget, and that's honestly its main appeal.

This building is perfect location to go any where. Everything is walking distances, extra souk and all shopping locations including the masjid. I didn’t need car only for going to work .

This building has alot of maintenance issues. The issues started from day one I moved in to the appartement “brand new”. So many things were broken had to be fixed. The major issue was the AC ; it’s very loud like it has engine inside and doesn’t cool , plus always there a stinky unbearable odor coming from the AC. The maintenance were never been able to fix it. You can expect dirty water coming from the floor drains out of the blue. Leakage from everywhere. I wouldn’t recommend this place .
