I lived in Dubai Silicon Oasis for more than 5 years, and the community has really stayed with me. What I appreciated most was the greenery and how walkable everything is, which really makes the area stand out. I used to go on long walks regularly, cycle around the neighbourhood, and simply enjoy the overall atmosphere. If you have a dog, there is a fantastic dog park, which also became a big part of my daily routine. The community is mostly made up of apartments, but it also has the beautiful Cedre Villas, and the whole neighbourhood feels very family friendly, with a number of excellent schools located within the area. Some of the more established buildings have generous layouts and are great value for money, while newer developments offer a more contemporary style. The community has evolved so much recently, and has a wide range of restaurants and cafés, along with the newer Silicon Central mall. It feels lively, and still holds on to that close knit, neighbourhood feel. Areas like DTEC, in particular, are very thoughtfully designed, with pedestrian friendly spaces, plenty of cafés and restaurants, and areas where children can run around and play safely. In terms of location, I always found DSO very convenient, as it is well connected to the rest of Dubai. It offers a great quality of life, especially for anyone who values green spaces, walkability, and a strong sense of community.

i lived in silicon oasis with my family for 1.5 years and it was heaven! we had 2 mosques, a shopping center (silicon central that includes Lulu and a lot of clothing shops and cafes/restaurants), the north park, a lake, a food court, and 2 hospitals nearby, with multiple grocery shops like al maya and choithrams, and many bus stops that go almost everywhere around silicon and dubai. i gave it 4/5 on the transport only because we don't have metro line however you can take bus number 320 to al rashidya (centerpoint metro) which takes about 30-40 mins or bus #50 which goes to dubai mall directly in about 30-40 mins too when it comes to being family friendly, i have a 2 year old who loved to go to the north park as there's a lot of slides and swings for kids as well as a large football court and a running track around the court. there's also basketball and beach ball/volley ball courts and a skating area. when it comes to running/walking there's a running track around the lake. i used to take my scooter from the park all the way to silicon central mall. we also had a small shopping/cafe area known as Souq Extra that included carrefour, kfc, krispy kreme...etc, as well as 2 gyms including Gymnation and UFC in silicon central mall noon supermall, and minutes were right around the corner (we had a noon minutes warehouse inside souq extra) so deliveries were really quick i would say the only negative/downsides is that it gets a bit traffic crowded around 5-7pm and rent may be a bit overpriced especially near the mall and around bus stations, but it gives you that value for money vibe, honestly i really wish i could go back and live there again

I lived in Dubai Silicon Oasis for about a year and a half, near Souq Extra. Overall, it's a peaceful and calm community - you never feel like it's overcrowded. Despite being close to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, traffic noise was never really an issue. There's a small park near the DSO entrance, but it's quite modest, and I wouldn't say the area offers much in the way of walking routes or points of interest. On the upside, it's close to the half-desert, which makes it really convenient for BBQ outings. There are a few decent restaurants around, but the dining scene doesn't come close to somewhere like Al Barsha. That said, DSO is a well-established community. You'll find almost everything you need day to day - hospitals, schools, a university, supermarkets, and more. It's also worth mentioning the IFZA free zone, which is a major business hub within DSO. If you've set up a company there, living in Silicon Oasis makes a lot of practical sense. So overall, I'd call it an average area in the best sense of the word - not remarkable, not disappointing. It delivers what you'd expect for the budget, and that's honestly its main appeal.

Almost every week they have a problem with th water supply so they have to clean the tanks so after that you cna smell the detergents when you open the tap.. disgusting!! The fire alarm goes on almost everyday for no reason just and they just claim that it is very sensitive.. There is no gym and the pool is tiny. You can hardly get a signal for your mobile inside the house and as per etisalat the management has to install signal boosters and still they did not. NO VISITOR PARKING!!! BECAUSE THEY RENTED IT !!!!
