Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) is the ultimate address for beachfront living. Its beachfront boulevard, The Walk, and The Beach mall are among the city’s best tourist attractions. The beach-facing development is instantly recognisable for its sandy-hued towers.
The complex runs the entire 1.7km length of The Walk, Dubai’s most popular beachside boulevard with its restaurants and cafes. At podium level, the apartments have their own walkways, gardens, shared pools, shops and convenience stores.
The constant throng of holiday makers results in traffic congestion during peak hours and the weekends, creating frustration for residents and visitors alike. Some parts of JBR are still construction zones. However, you don’t have to own a car if you live in JBR. Two Metro stations are each just a short walk across one of the bridges over the Marina. The new Tram system connects with the Metro stations and has helped to ease traffic congestion around JBR.
However, as the area is almost 100% completed, the residential buildings are old.
Lebanese food lovers must check out Sarouja for the ambience and live bands while Turkish food aficionados can try Tike Taste of Istanbul. There is also an outlet of The Cheesecake Factory. Residents also love Leopold’s of London, Eggspectation, Operation Falafel and Ramusake in the neighbourhood.
Don’t miss: Views of Ain Dubai on Bluewaters Island
Neighbours: Western expats, tourists
Lifestyle: City living, lively vibe
Pros: Dining and nightlife options, The Walk, views
Cons: Traffic jams
