Jumeirah Lake Towers

(based on 252 building reviews)

Skyscraper life

Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) is a waterfront community that has come of age after years of construction and road works. A less expensive alternative to the Dubai Marina, JLT is ideal for professionals working in Media City, Internet City, Jebel Ali Free Zone and Abu Dhabi.
The area’s three-tower cluster design is set around four lakes, some with views over Dubai Marina or Emirates Hills golf courses. Landscaping and roads are now complete and the district offers waterfront living to its residents.
Its pedestrian-friendly walkways attract families and professionals looking for a calm and serene neighbourhood away from Dubai’s frenetic pace, yet still relatively close to the entertainment options of Dubai Marina.
People choose to live in JLT because it gives them the perfect combination of proximity to major landmarks, and the seclusion and greenery of a suburb. JLT is perfect for individuals commuting between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and small families looking for a comfortable place to raise their children. Dog owners also love this pet-friendly area.
Many people choose to live in JLT if they also happen to be working there. JLT also offers a fitness-focused lifestyle; dozens of gyms and sports centres, in addition to athletic community clubs and events.
Residents usually favour buildings located in proximity of Metro stations. These include Green Lakes, Lake Terrace, Madina Tower, Al Sheraa Tower and Al Seef, and on the office side, Jumeirah Business Centre, Indigo Icon, Saba and Reef.
One-way traffic systems can mean a long drive around the perimeter of the neighborhood to get to and from certain clusters. Paid public parking can also be a small niggle.
Jumeirah Lakes Towers is very well connected by Metro and walkway to Dubai Marina and allows residents to easily reach the beach and The Walk at JBR.
In terms of entertainment, there is a live music band at Jazz at Pizza Express, or check out Irish pub McGettigans. The JLT Park is a residents' favourite, with kids' play areas and walking paths.
Hidden gems include Raju Omelette, Vietnamese Foodies, Art Lunch and El Mostacho. Don’t miss out taking family and friends to Mythos Kouzina & Grill for Greek food, Betawi for Indonesian food, Nola Eatery & Social House and Beit Maryam for Levantine flavours. The two Metro stations are a big plus. Taking a stroll around the lake is essential in the winter months.

Don’t miss: The quaint Greek taverna, Mythos.

Neighbours: Young families and working professionals from all nationalities.

Lifestyle: Laidback, convenient

Pros: Metro connectivity, reasonably priced entertainment and dining options
Cons: Paid public parking, one-way road system

Great community for runners
Rose, Product Manager
I love living in JLT for the parks, lakes, convenient location and independant restaurants (Raju Omelette, Vietnamese Foodies and Art Lunch are my faves). If you're looking for a slightly cheaper, and less crowded, alternative to Dubai Marina - JLT could be perfect for you. The buildings in JLT vary in quality and price, so picking a good tower in a good "cluster" is very important. JLT is made up of two one-way systems, so the time it takes you to get on and off Sheikh Zayed road can vary from 1-7 minutes depending on where you live. I love to run, as do many of the other residents in JLT, who make use of the running tracks and lakeside walk-ways. JLT residents are an eclectic bunch, but it's mainly young professionals or young families. It's a quiet, calm and respectful neighbourhood, which I really like.

Peaceful with lots to offer
Oriana, Designer
I chose my first studio in JLT when I moved to Dubai, firstly because it's close from Media City where I work. When I decided to move to a one bedroom I picked JLT again, because I love the peaceful atmosphere and everything else it can offer. It's a nice feeling to be able to walk or run around the parks and lakes down my house, it's not always common in Dubai. Each cluster connects with each others and offers a lot to discover, from small shops, hairdressers, nail salons, to international restaurants like Mythos, Nola, Poke&co, Little Urth, Beit Maryam, Couqley, to name a few. There is 4 Hotels which allows family and friends to stay close from mine when they visit. The proximity with Dubai Marina Mall is very convenient. Not to mention the two metro stations that connect the community to the rest of the City.

Quiet and green
Valentina, Data Scientist
I like JLT because it is a perfect compromise between location and lifestyle. It is very close (walking distance) to the beach, my office in Media City and all the bars/restaurants etc in Marina and JBR. However, it is much more quiet and green than the later two. I has great community feel and offers lots of public spaces for walks, jogging etc. There are many quirky restaurants and a few bars in the area.
