It is a bit far from the center of Dubai. You definitely need a car to go there. It is a quiet and family-friendly community. I visited it a couple of times. However, it is a bit limitted with the services it has. i.e for shopping or dining, you need to go out to the nearest mall.

Rukan is a great option if you want affordable townhouse living and don't want to pay those crazy premium Dubai rents. It’s incredibly quiet and the loft-style houses look cool, but you definitely feel how far out you are. Honestly, having to drive over to the neighboring communities every time I need a decent coffee or a proper supermarket gets a bit annoying, but if you just want a peaceful spot on a budget, it does the job.
