About Dubai Healthcare City

Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) is a free healthcare zone in Bur Dubai. It was established in 2002 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to provide exceptional healthcare services and develop medical tourism in Dubai.

The vision behind creating DHCC is to have an internationally recognized hub for medical research and educational institutions. Indeed, Dubai Healthcare City has many strategic partnerships through which it offers plenty of services and facilities in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical education and research, medical equipment, wellness, and allied support.


It houses many high-end healthcare facilities, including about 10 hospitals and 168 clinical facilities. DHCC is governed by the Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA), which provides an environment conducive to business setup.


The area also provides a range of elegant residential properties whose main populations are expats and healthcare professionals. Dubai Healthcare City is just a few minutes from Downtown Dubai and Dubai Creek, making it a prime spot for healthcare and medical professionals.
