It doesn’t get better than the Dubai Marina if you’re looking to live in one of the city’s most stylish neighbourhoods. It is a high-rise district home to residential and serviced apartments and hotel towers offering an array of entertainment venues and restaurants. The area is a waterfront lifestyle destination with a marina and beach within walking distance.
Dubai Marina is known for being a hip and glitzy neighbourhood, attracting young professionals. Nationalities are very mixed, but tend toward European.
The upscale neighbourhood is mainly popular with professionals who work in Dubai Media City and Jebel Ali Free Zone or JLT because of its proximity to their workplace. Those that have chosen to work in Abu Dhabi but live in Dubai often prefer to reside in the Marina, since it allows for a manageable commute.
Dubai Marina is a playground for social butterflies who love living life to the fullest. Marina residents love the water views from the buildings’ balconies, whether of the marina itself or of the open sea.
Check out Dubai Marina Mall or the new XLine and Skydive Dubai for the adrenaline junkies. Also, don’t miss having breakfast at Bouchon - their French baguettes are to die for. There is Ammos for Greek food lovers and Ladurée for some tea and macaroons. For a fine dining night, check out Pier 7 or restaurants at the Grosvenor House.
Residents are appreciative of grocery stores throughout the area. They also love that many spots within the Marina have easy access to the Dubai Metro. For residents that are further away from the Metro, the Dubai Tram serves to get them around the Marina and JBR.
The Marina Walk has a plethora of restaurants offering many types of cuisines. Pharmacies are open 24 hours a day and delivery service is quick in the Marina.

Don’t miss: Dinner in the Sky for a special occasion; South American restaurant Toro Toro in Grosvenor House

Neighbours: Mostly affluent European expats, single professionals and small families.

Lifestyle: Relaxed on weekdays, buzzing on weekends

Pros: The views are to die for, easy access to the beach, abundance of entertainment options
Cons: Not so great for big families and pet owners, visitor parking options are limited, peak hour traffic is bad

Dubai Marina is a great place to live - stroll down the walk, go shopping in Marina mall, enjoy a staycation at the beach and at night you've got a great variety of high quality restaurants and bars.

Walk everywhere, but it's noisy
Laure, Marketing
I really enjoy living in Marina as I get to do a lot of things by walk like going to the beach, taking the metro, doing some food shopping etc. The atmosphere is chill and the lake bring some serenity into the decor as well. One of my favorite place to have breakfast is Bouchon! They have some amazing French pastry... give their fresh baguette a try! But everything has its negative side and for Marina it's the noise and the traffic. If you wish to wake up with the birds sound, then go your own way. Also, it's not very easy to access and there're too many traffic lights that make the traffic very slow!
