I lived in Al Ghozlan 2 for 8 years, the building has aged and the people has changed. Kids screaming in the corridor, leaving their shoes in the corridor, and in general the apartment living culture has swept away from the building. There is no allocated security at the entrance and in the building, they will come if you call their hotline and complaint. The tiles started to come off and the AC units need sensitization. All the AC had problem with insulation and they changed it, but mold and fungus was spread all the units. This is applicable to all the Old Greens.

If you are renting a flat facing the Teecom side then be prepared for the constant traffic noise. It is impossible to open your windows to let in fresh air as the traffic noise is very loud and will surely disturb you endlessly. When we moved in few years back it was peaceful but not anymore so I really do not understand the premium rents as the quality of living has considerably deteriorated. Also, the building/apartments are quite old and there are issues with tiles coming off in the apartments and some issues that may call for regular maintenance. However, the common areas are well maintained by Emaar.

We’ve actually had quite a long history with The Greens. My husband and I first lived here about 10 years ago - in Al Thayyal 4 and later Travo B - and after a few years back home, when we returned to Dubai, there was no question… we chose The Greens again (now in Al Alka 1). There’s just something about this community that’s hard to find elsewhere. It genuinely feels like a neighbourhood. People are friendly, everyone says hello when you walk past, and it’s incredibly family, kid and pet friendly. One of the things we love most is how walkable everything is. Our son’s school is a 5-minute walk, and we have at least five different coffee spots within a few minutes from home. There’s also a really lovely outdoor book exchange library - you can take a book or leave one - and it’s actually well maintained. We often stop by on our walks just to see what’s there. The outdoor spaces are a big plus too - walking paths, exercise equipment, and just a really calm, green environment. You genuinely don’t hear traffic, which is rare in Dubai. Our son also does his swimming lessons in the community pool, which is really convenient, and our gym has just undergone an upgrade - it took a few months, but it’s now ready and a great addition. Our building has 24-hour security, which adds to the overall sense of comfort and safety. If I’m being honest, the apartments could do with a bit of TLC, and the allocated underground parking spaces are quite tight - but for us, the community more than makes up for it. Overall, we love living here. It’s one of those places that just feels easy and comfortable, and that’s why we came back.
