What you need to know about Greens

The Greens is a low-rise residential community by Emaar, with 40 buildings arranged across 10 apartment complexes along First Al Khail Street in central Dubai. It sits next to Barsha Heights and The Views, and Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City are both just minutes away. That mix gives you a quieter, tree-lined address without pushing you far from the city's main office hubs.

Inside the community, the pace feels slower than the nearby high-rise districts. Walkways run past shaded gardens, a central lake, and small pocket parks, so the setting feels more residential than corporate.

The Greens is divided into 10 named clusters: Al Sidir, Al Nakheel, Al Arta, Al Samar, Al Alka, Al Ghaf, Al Jaz, Al Thayyal, Al Dhafra, and Al Ghozlan. Each one has four low-rise buildings grouped around shared pools, gyms, and play areas. The community also includes The Onyx by Ishraqah, a newer mixed-use complex that brought in a residential tower, a commercial tower, and the Zabeel House by Jumeirah hotel in 2017.

Daily life tends to center around The Greens Souk. It has a supermarket, cafes, salons, and the everyday services most residents use regularly. Families and working professionals tend to choose The Greens for the same reason: it makes daily life easy. Parents have schools inside the community, and are all within about 10 to 15 minutes by car. If you work in Media City or Internet City, the commute is usually about 5 minutes by car. Pet owners also get something practical here, with a genuinely pet-friendly setup that includes a dedicated dog park and shaded walking paths.

The Greens is part of the wider Emirates Living master community, which also includes The Views, The Meadows, The Springs, Emirates Hills, and The Lakes. Ownership is freehold and open to foreign buyers, which has helped keep the area popular with both end users and long-term investors.

We’ve actually had quite a long history with The Greens. My husband and I first lived here about 10 years ago - in Al Thayyal 4 and later Travo B - and after a few years back home, when we returned to Dubai, there was no question… we chose The Greens again (now in Al Alka 1). There’s just something about this community that’s hard to find elsewhere. It genuinely feels like a neighbourhood. People are friendly, everyone says hello when you walk past, and it’s incredibly family, kid and pet friendly. One of the things we love most is how walkable everything is. Our son’s school is a 5-minute walk, and we have at least five different coffee spots within a few minutes from home. There’s also a really lovely outdoor book exchange library - you can take a book or leave one - and it’s actually well maintained. We often stop by on our walks just to see what’s there. The outdoor spaces are a big plus too - walking paths, exercise equipment, and just a really calm, green environment. You genuinely don’t hear traffic, which is rare in Dubai. Our son also does his swimming lessons in the community pool, which is really convenient, and our gym has just undergone an upgrade - it took a few months, but it’s now ready and a great addition. Our building has 24-hour security, which adds to the overall sense of comfort and safety. If I’m being honest, the apartments could do with a bit of TLC, and the allocated underground parking spaces are quite tight - but for us, the community more than makes up for it. Overall, we love living here. It’s one of those places that just feels easy and comfortable, and that’s why we came back.

Emaar built 40 buildings across 10 complexes, and the newer Onyx mixed-use towers by Ishraqah add a different format to the area. Homes range from studios to four-bedroom layouts, and most look onto shaded courtyards, pool decks, or the central lake. Below is a closer look at what each type offers.

Apartments make up the entire residential stock in The Greens. All of Emaar's 10 clusters include studios, one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes across four low-rise buildings in each cluster. The Onyx Towers by Ishraqah add taller one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above Zabeel House by Jumeirah and a retail podium.

The Greens Souk is also within walking distance for Choithrams, salons, and cafes.
