International City 2 encompasses 731 hectares of land in the Warsan 4 district. It is bordered by Emirates Road to the west, Academic City to the east, Silicon Oasis to the south, and International City 1 on the northern side, separated by the the DEWA high-voltage power reservation corridor. The district encompasses Phase 2 and Phase 3 of Nakheel's International City development. Confusingly, the land designated for Phase 3 has been developed before Phase 2. The original plan had Phase 2 & Phase 3 separated by a green belt but that will now be occupied by the Blue Line metro and station. Although the community is directly adjacent to Silicon Oasis, there is not yet any direct transport connection. On the eastern boundary of the site, the frontage to Academic City Road is separated by an easement for a potential Dubai-Sharjah gas pipeline. in contrast to International City 1, each building has a unique architectural design owing to the fact the land parcels were sold to private developers. The masterplan limits all high-rise towers to the central circle area of the development with the rest of the land allocated to low- and mid-rise apartment buildings. The Phase 2 land was initially earmarked for apartment buildings but has been rebranded as Greenview and designated entirely for townhouses and villas. The land parcels were made available for sale to private developers.
