10: Motor City

Commute

For those dependent on public transport, Motor City may not be for you as connectivity is limited. No Metro line currently exists here and bus routes are limited.

11: Dubai Sports City

The best thing about living in Sports City is that you get to see all cricket matches at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

12: Palm Jumeirah

Emirates Hills has been meticulously crafted to offer the ultimate luxury lifestyle amenities to residents, built around the world-class Montgomerie 18-hole Championship Golf Course. 17: Deira

Deira is a great place for families to stay as you get bigger units for attractive prices compared to the newer areas of Dubai.

Deira is commonly referred to as the commercial district of Old Dubai. Undoubtedly, one of the biggest allures of calling Deira home, is the rich culture and awareness of tradition that comes with. Best known for the Gold Souk and Spice Souk, the streets of this community are always abuzz with activity. A highly attractive location for families seeking affordable housing as units are typically larger in square footage and priced significantly less than newer areas of Dubai.

Deira, near Bur Dubai, can be accessed from Sheikh Zayed Road and First Al Khail Road. Downtown Dubai is a 30-minute drive away, while Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah is a 45-minute drive.

Aside from being alive with souks selling gold, spices, perfumes and textiles, Deira is brimming with authentic food stalls and eateries serving up traditional Middle Eastern food. Several malls, supermarkets and 5-star hotels located within the community ensures residents have everything they need within reach. A wide selection of nurseries and schools are for families with young children are available, including the world-class Deira International School (DIS) offering a British curriculum.

Commute

Deira is extremely well-connected, serviced by the Al Rigga and Union Metro stations. There is also the Deira City Centre Metro station which is connected to Deira City Centre shopping mall. Buses and taxis are also readily available.

Deira is predominantly comprised of apartment options, varying in size, layout and age.

18: Al Barsha

Al Barsha, which includes Al Barsha 1, 2, 3 and Barsha South, is favoured by both locals and expats as it has a great mix of villas and apartments.

19: Jumeirah

The Jumeirah area boasts of many new iconic destinations such as City Walk, La Mer and Box Park.

20: Mirdif

Those with kids can make use of the vibrant Mirdif City Centre, Uptown Mirdif or the Last Exit Khawaneej for weekend entertainment.

Commute

There is no metro line operating in the community, the nearest metro station is Rashidiya. Residents have easy access to buses, however for ease of movement in the area, it would be best to have your own car.

21: Jumeirah Village Circle

JVC has a family-friendly setting with an abundance of parks, grocery stores and restaurants in the vicinity.

The community has no Metro station or bus stops but taxis are readily available. The nearest bus stop is located 10 minutes away in Dubai Production City, and the closest Metro station is Damac Properties, approximately 15 minutes away.

22: Arabian Ranches

There are good schools and nurseries in Arabian Ranches and the Dubai International Academic City is just a 15-minute drive away.

Raffles Nursery is located in Arabian Ranches’ Saheel community, while Jumeirah English Speaking School (JESS), one of Dubai’s most respected education institutions is proudly situated at the main gate. Exemplary sporting and community facilities are what makes this community shine. Among these are swimming pools, parks and barbecue areas, basketball and tennis courts, lakes and walking trails. For younger residents, there are dedicated children’s swimming pools and numerous play areas. Nearby Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club, an upscale social hub extending over 250,000 square metres of desert landscape, features two international-sized polo fields, a practice field, paddocks and two riding and show jumping arenas. 23: The Springs, Lakes and Meadows 

These Emirates Living communities are built around nature and have water and greenery.

The Springs, The Greens, Lakes and Meadows are part of the Emirates Living community, home to the ultra-luxury, Emirates Hills. The Springs has long been popular with those looking to make the leap from apartment to villa. The area consists of terraced townhouses and stylish villas at attractive price points. Scenic, The Lakes, has been purposefully designed for families, with luxurious villas and townhouses sitting between landscaped common areas. The Meadows, an established, well maintained gated community of spacious villas, is secure and peaceful with abundant family amenities.

Location

This area is strategically located with easy access to Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road and Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

Emirates Living communities are known for their perfectly maintained surroundings of tree lined streets, landscaped gardens and diverse range of amenities, encouraging a feeling of a suburban retreat away from city life. Residents can take full advantage of the amenities located within each separate community. Residents can also enjoy the prestigious Montgomerie 18-hole Championship Golf Course located in Emirates Hills and The Lakes Club, offering a swimming pool, gym and fitness studio, tennis courts and dining options. 

Commute

For freedom of movement, The Springs, Lakes and Meadows are best for families with cars. The nearest Metro station is located at Nakheel, and buses run regularly to and from Dubai Internet City Metro station via The Greens.

24: Dubai Silicon Oasis 

Dubai Silicon Oasis is wholly owned by the government of Dubai and is an integrated living and working community.

What’s special

Dubai Silicon Oasis has grown from a community specifically for innovation and tech startups to a residential area, offering an abundance of apartments and villa communities. The two main villa communities, Cedre and Semmer, offer 3 to 5-bedroom villa options with private swimming pools, perfect for family life. Home to some of the top nurseries for families with younger children as well as international schools offering a British or International Baccalaureate curriculum. The community is also located near Academic City which is home to several international universities.

Location

DSO is located just off Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. 

Amenities

DSO offers a vibrant environment of lifestyle amenities from landscaped green parks, swimming pools, tennis courts and children’s play areas. A new mall set to open in 2020 with spacious open rooftop gardens, and a sleek and modern design housing a collection of retail, entertainment and dining options will be a centrepiece within the community. 

Commute

DSO is best suited to families with cars, with no dedicated Metro station within the community. The nearest Metro station is Rashidiya, approximately a 20 minute drive away.

Dubai Silicon Oasis offers a collection of studio to 3-bedroom apartments, as well as affordable villas with up to 5-bedrooms in various configurations. 

Average rent: 1-bedroom apartment – AED 47,000

25: Al Furjan

Al Furjan boasts of cafes, a supermarket, a sports and recreation hub with a restaurant, swimming pool, a games court and gym.

What’s special

Al Furjan, Arabic for a ‘collection of homes’, is exactly that, spread over a huge area of 560 hectares offering a variety of apartments and villas. Designed to create an intimate and secure family environment, villas are built in small clusters connected by a series of walkways and parks. Over one quarter of the community is comprised by lush green parks and landscapes.

Location

Located between Sheikh Zayed Road and Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and next to Discovery Gardens. 

Amenities

Al Furjan contains two community centres, Al Furjan Pavilion and Al Furjan West Pavilion, which offer a wide range of lifestyle amenities including swimming pools, sports courts, retail and dining. As an extension of this, the Al Furjan Club features additional sporting facilities, a fully equipped gym and fitness studios. The community is soon to benefit from linked cycle routes running through Discovery Gardens resulting in a 40 km cycle track for residents. Ibn Battuta Mall is in close proximity to satisfy further retail and dining needs and Mall of the Emirates is a short 25-minute drive away.

Commute

Al Furjan is not currently served by the Metro, with the closest station being  Ibn Battuta. However, a new Metro line that will serve the community is under construction as part of the Dubai Expo 2020 developments. 

Properties & Prices

Al Furjan consists of primarily affordable townhouses and villas ranging in size up to 6-bedrooms. A collection of mid-rise apartments are available also.

26: Reem

Reem is a green haven and is the first residential community in Dubai to house a huge central park.

What’s special

Reem is a master-development comprised of several residential communities to be built in phases, with the first two communities being Mira and Mira Oasis offering a collection of townhouses. Located in the heart of the gated community will be a central park featuring wide open green spaces complete with interactive fountains. Reem promises residents a serene and tranquil lifestyle inspired by nature. 

Location

Reem is located in close proximity to Sheikh Zayed Road, Emirates Road and Al Qudra Road. Arabian Ranches is situated just next door. 

Amenities

Reem is designed to offer residents a well-balanced, healthy lifestyle. With this in mind, most villas benefit from direct access to jogging tracks within the community. Communal parks, manicured gardens and dedicated children’s play areas makes this community highly attractive for families. Close proximity to Arabian Ranches Golf Club, Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club and Global Village widens the leisure options available to residents.  

Commute

As Reem continues to develop, transport options are not yet available. Families would benefit from their own car, or alternatively, taxis are widely obtainable.

Reem is a gated community of townhouses and villas built with contemporary architecture and stylish interiors.
